Scattergories is a funny game I like to play on special occasions with my family. I normally play it at Grandma And Grandpa’s house. We have lots of fun doing it. Now let’s dive into some basics!
Before we start learning the rules, there is one thing to know: Answers do not have to make sense! The lists are categories of objects/people that tell you what you need to write. What you do first is roll the die. Whatever letter it lands on that is the letter all your answers will have to start with. Then somebody starts the timer and you start writing your answers to the things on the list.
Once the timer is done, everybody will say their answers. But, anybody can challenge your answer. Everybody votes on if its an OK answer. If there is a majority that say it is good, you will get that point. But, if a majority that say it is bad, you will lose that point. You also lose your point if somebody else has the same answer. You get 1 point if your answer has one word that starts with that letter, 2 for two and so on.
Scattergories is a game where we laugh and learn about new things. It is a great game to have, that young and old can play. Happy playing!
